In the Torah, God chooses Michael to protect and defend Israel as a nation. Daniel 12:21 of the Torah describes Michael as “the great prince” who will protect God’s people even during the struggle between good and evil at the end of the world. In the Zohar foundation of Kabbalah, Michael escorts the souls of righteous people to heaven. The Bible describes in 1 Thessalonians 4:16 that Michael will accompany Jesus Christ when he returns to Earth. The Qur’an warns in Al-Baqara 2:98: “Whoever is an enemy to God and his angels and his apostles, to Gabriel and Michael -- lo! God is an enemy to those who reject the faith.” Muslims believe that God has assigned Michael to reward righteous people for the good they do during their earthly lifetimes.

In Hindu
astronomy, Aldebaran corresponds to the
Rohini Nakshatra, the Red Deer - the name of the river in Nepal where the
Buddha was born at the time of the May full moon, around 563 BCE.
For the Dakotas (a branch of the Native American Sioux tribe),
Aldebaran took on a heroic aspect. The young star was the child of the sun and
the lady Blue Star. One day he desired to hunt the white buffalo (the
Pleiades). After he pulled up a sapling to make a spear, a hole was made in the
ground and he could see all the people of earth down below. The white buffalo
took this chance to push him through. He was found by an old woman and was to
be known as Old Woman's Grandson. On earth he killed many strange monsters,
which had been troubling the Native Americans; one monster of which was a
serpent that caused drought; he killed it releasing a great stream of water
that became the Mississippi River. In time, Old Woman's Grandson remembered the
white buffalo and returned to hunting him in the sky to fulfill his destiny.
The Tehuti / Thoth Prophecy, Egypt is the image of the heavens;

say about Aldebaran? Ancient Egyptians revered Sirius as
very important and the name given to the star Aldebaran was “Ad-Dab-aram”,

one of four royal stars, the 13th brightest in the heavens.
Aldebaran,
“the Watcher in the East,” is one of the Royal Stars of Persia that resides in
the constellation of Taurus the Bull. The four Royal Stars are very powerful

association to Michael also grants protection and victory over the opposition.

constellation Taurus the Bull, rises in the fall at sunset, and is the
thirteenth brightest star in the sky. Its name comes from the Arabic Al Dabaran, the Follower, because
Aldebaran appears to follow the Pleiades through the night sky.
As the Eye of the Bull, Aldebaran is called
the Eye of Revelation. Astronomers and cosmologists refer it to as the Eastern
Royal Star, one of the four Royal Stars considered the
sentinels watching over other stars. It is also known as the Buddha’s star, the
Star of Illumination, and God’s Eye. This magnificent star has been used for
centuries in navigation, and is known by many civilizations to be connected
with the spirits of rain and the fertility of the earth. Approximately 5,000
years ago, the rising of Aldebaran marked the vernal equinox and marked the
beginning of the Babylonian New Year.

locate Aldebaran or Taurus, follow the line of the three stars that make up the

degrees of the sign Gemini, with Antares at 9 degrees of the sign Sagittarius.
Aldebaran is said to be a portal to the

to the mysteries of the heart, this creates a powerful stargate axis that is
illuminated bi-annually when the Sun passes by Aldebaran at the first of June
and then Antares about six months later.
1999 Pluto passed through the constellation
of Scorpio and conjoined Antares, also known for its transformative qualities.
Pluto visits Scorpio only once every 248 years. During its sweep through this

and Raphael work together to oversee the sephirot called "Hod"
which means glory and splendour. Here's how Michael represents the quality of
Hod in the universe:

Michael, who
leads God's holy angels in spiritual battles between good and evil every day,
represents the part of Hod that exemplifies the importance of fighting for
God's glory to prevail over sin that can obscure it in this fallen world,
believers say.
In her book The Temple of
High Magic: Hermetic Initiations in the Western Mystery Tradition,
Ina Cüsters-van Bergen writes: "Archangel Michael is the ruling archangel
of Hod. ... He is the angel who is connected with the defence of light and
truth. Michael is the angel who conquers Satan during the War in Heavens. He is also called the
Prince of the Light. ... Michael leads the souls of the justified ones to the
eternal light. His major qualities are protection, perfection, and power."
"The
Archangel of Hod is Michael, the great Guardian who holds at bay the forces of
the Underworld," writes Gareth Knight in his book A Practical Guide to Qabalistic Symbolism. "This
archangel is the one to be called upon when assaulted by danger or unbalanced
force of any nature, including the up rush of averse and demonic aspects

Healing for the New Aeon. "Modern practitioners call upon him to
release unwanted spirit attachments during healing sessions. Qabalistically,
Michael has been associated with both the sphere of Tiphareth (Sun) and of Hod
(Mercury). Most texts say he rules one sphere and co-rules the other, jointly
with Raphael, showing his association with healing."
In his book Crystal Balls & Crystal Bowls: Tools
for Ancient Scrying & Modern Seership, Ted Andrews writes that,
while expressing Hod, Michael can give people information about: "Truth
and dishonesty, communication, business wheeling and dealing, education,
scientific knowledge and endeavors."

in A Practical Guide to Qabalistic
Symbolism that "... ignorance is the breeding ground of much evil, and
that ignorance is dispersed by the light of the mind in Hod. Thus the attribution
of Michael, the Disperser of the Forces of Darkness, is a correct one."
Working With Raphael
Archangel
Michael and archangel Raphael work together as a team to express Hod in the
world, say believers.
"There
are two archangels attributed to Hod: Raphael and Michael," writes Ellen
Cannon Reed in her book The Witches
Qabala: The Pagan Path and the Tree of Life. "Hod is situated
directly below Geburah, home of Khamael, defender of the wronged and
protector of the weak. Michael is also a defender, especially on psychic
planes. Raphael, however, is the healer of psychic wounds, and of Air, which
represents the intellect. He, therefore, has a rightful place in this sphere.
The striving for knowledge can place us in danger, psychically, and it is good
at these times to have mighty Michael on your side. Should these explorations
result in psychic hurts, however, it is good to have Raphael. The archangel you
invoke depends, again, on the work you are doing."
As a first
step, there is no need to go further than simply to discover how to cultivate
the experience of being at ease and at peace. This usually leads to a feeling
of open heartedness. When such a feeling happens, we can associate it with the
name: Michael. Through repetition, this association can be created in a short
time so that all we need do is think of the name Michael, and our mood rapidly
shifts. (Be sure to keep the association with Archangel
Michael, a vision we will develop, rather than to any human Michael
you may know.) The experience of this archangel is not
like having someone else in the room, it is more the experience that would be

The point is
not that someone must “believe” in angels to embrace the potential empowerment
of dwelling in certain mind states. Just as there are well-known placebo
effects in medicine that can be stimulated through the use of imagination, so
too is there an opportunity for invoking our own hidden potentials by taking on
practices that strengthen our attitudes, moods, convictions and other powerful
states of mind.
So, the
archangel Michael is associated with acts of loving-kindness. We see in the
Torah that one of Michael’s tasks was to inform Abraham and Sarah of the
upcoming birth of their son Isaac. This birth was considered a miracle, as both
parents were both quite advanced in age—Abraham being one hundred years old,
and Sarah ninety.
